Hi,
The great barrier reef is about 2000 km's long right? What are the best spots for diving? Which towns are the best base for this?

Hey Brody,
There are som great spots there and yes it's huge so if possible pick 2 or more spots. I dived at the outer reef close to Cairns, that was very good, but also the snorkelling was already good, so you don't NEED to dive there, but of course it's always nice to make a dive. Another spot we went to is the very southern end of the reef: at Lady Elliot island. that's a bit more expensive, because you have to fly to the island (or a boat is also possible, but takes a while) and you can spend a couple of nights (or daytrips are posible) there. Reefsharks, turtles, rays etc. Have fun!
