Hi there,

In february and march of coming year I'll be spending 6 weeks in Australia to see hopefully as much as possible from the east coast and to go to Ayers rock in the middle. We're planning to rent a camper-van. What can you tell me about hotels in Australia along the road or any other travel hints for Australia?

thanks in advance

Hi Darren,

Camper is a great way to travel, but 6 weeks might be short especially if you want to see Ayers Rock as well, that's somewhat off the other route you're planning to take. Take at least 4 weeks for the east coast. try more if you can.. Australia is such a huge country, so take some time for it.

Hey guys,

6 weeks is possible to travel the East coast and go to Ayers rock/Uluru, but I would recommend to fly to the red centre instead of driving there. You can rent a car when you arrive there, for example in Alice springs and then drive to Uluru and don't miss the Kings Canyon on your way over there!! That's just great, take a couple of hours to do the walk around the rim (try early morning to avoid the heat). Remember that Alice and Ayers rock are about 400 km away from each other, so take at least a 3 day trip to drive over there visit one day Uluru, another day the Olga's (about 50 km away from Ayers rock/Uluru) and another day the King Canyon. Have fun!
